The main purpose of a creation myth is to show the value and beliefs of different cultures. In the myth "The world on a turtle's back" it shows all the beliefs, values, and culture of the Iroquois. The first difference that can be spot is in the myth "The world on a turtle's back" the Earth was created by a woman and in the myth "The story of corn and medicine," the Earth was created by animals. Another difference is in "The world on turtle's back" the boys were brothers and in "The story of corn and medicine" the boys were just friends. In one story there were hardly any humans on the Earth, whereas; there were an great abundance of humans on the earth in the other story. The last difference is animals were at peace with the humans, whereas; in the other story the animals were at war with the humans.
Creation myths are knowledgeable to the all the readers that read them. There can be similarities in between the variety of creation myths. While there can also be many differences in the creation myths. Creation myths are made to show many beliefs of the many cultures that are around us. Myths are not just for entertainment, but they are also to show how many cultures believe the Earth was
