Romeo and Juliet shows the story of two families, and how destructive the hate that lurks between their families can be. The catastrophic events that unravel after Juliet takes a questionable potion is an absolute tragedy. Juliet takes a potion which would revive her after hours of deep sleep. Romeo is in distraught seeing his wife dead, chugs the potion and kills himself. Juliet awakens minutes later only to find Romeo dead, in complete shock she kills herself with Romeo’s dagger. It is debatable that this was simply an unlucky event, however is this a tale of hate and a demonstration of how destructive hate can be?

Lord Montague almost forced Juliet to marry Paris, a wealthy and young man. Juliet is desperate not to marry Paris because of Romeo. ‘O God! —O Nurse, how shall this be prevented? My husband is on earth, my faith in heaven. How shall that faith return again to earth.’ She attempts to find any possible solution to not marry Paris. She finds Friar Lawrence where she receives a potion. She it told to take the potion on the day of the marriage, her family would assume that she is dead. Later Romeo would come back, they would escape and live happily forever after. This plan goes terribly wrong as Romeo is informed too late that Juliet has taken a potion. In his grief, he then kills himself by drinking a potion and Juliet kills herself with Romeo’s dagger. Hate resulted in Juliet taking the potion and it all went downhill from
