There Is No Left Brain/Right Brain Divide

There are a few theories on how our brain communicates and works; two of those theories being left-brain right-brain dominance and top-brain bottom-brain. In the article There Is No Left Brain/Right Brain Divide it states “We have developed a new theory built on another, frequently overlooked anatomical division of the brain, into its top and bottom parts. Among other things, the top part sets up plans and revises those plans when expected events do not occur; the bottom classifies and interprets what we perceive.” but I believe that the brain works in left or right brain dominance. The two hemispheres communicate through the corpus callosum. Some scientists believe that left-brain right-brain dominance is a myth. They believe that the top
and bottom of the brain controls different thought modes. Nevertheless, others believe that the hemisphere control different thought process. There was a study on the relief of epileptic seizure symptoms and the corpus callosum. During this study, two neuroscientists Roger Sperry and Michael Gazzaniga cut the corpus callosum to disunite the two brain hemispheres. In Neuroscience For Kids it said “After surgery, these people appeared quite "normal" - they could walk, read, talk, play sports and do all the everyday things they did before surgery. Only after careful experiments that isolated information from reaching one hemisphere, could the real effects of the surgery be determined.” Many experiments such as were performed to determine the effects of the surgeries. After the experiments Researchers proved that each hemisphere controls the opposite portion of the body.
