As you may have recently seen/heard, the war started and lasted abruptly, the bomb has obliterated the entire city of St. Louis. And I am sure you have heard of the fireman that made our town famous. Yes, the one about Sir Guy Montag, how the “fireman” had to burn his own house down for having books in his home. The rare thing about that incident was what happened after his house was burned. He burned a man and killed the other two firemen. That was the thing that set me slim. The talk in this district is mad. You almost can bet what it’s about. It is either about the fireman who set the world on fire or the bomb that hurt everyone. The survivors are going insane! There is no order in this chaos we call a town! And I, as Captain Beatty’s replacement, have a few simple proposals as in how to restore the peace to this mad house I call home. There will be no more book burnings for this town. Not only will the books be kept safe, but they will be cherished. First off, I am going to make an organization called Books for Homes. Everyone will help restore the homes that were destroyed in the horrible tragedy. Each home and family will have one book. Everyone in the household will remember that one book and have it passed down to their family and so on and so on. Everyone will have a shred of knowledge of the past and will have some type of understanding of the times before. Secondly, there will be a town cleanup for a week. Our town was already dead before the bomb; it passed away from lack of knowledge and the truth. The bomb just got rid of the carcass of the town like a vulture on a dead body. I will help this town resurrect from the ashes of what once was to what it could be. Next everyone in the town will have a food drive to help feed the families that lost everything. This town will make a complete 360 ° flip. Everyone will have to act as one and unit to make the change. It takes one step to cross the…

Unconditional Positive Regard is a central concept in the theories of Carl R. Rogers, both for psychotherapy and for interpersonal relations. A universal need for positive regard by others appears at about the same time a person begins to experience awareness of self (Rogers, 1959). In therapy, UPR is a quality of the therapist’s experience toward the client (p. 239). Rogers’ writing sheds light on various aspects of this construct:…

The story of the Kite Runner is fictional, but it is rooted in real political and historical events ranging from the last days of the Afghan monarchy in the 1970s to the post-Taliban near present-day. Hosseini also pulls from his own memories and experiences growing up in the Wazir Akbar Khan section of Kabul and his adaptation to life in California. Khaled Hosseini’s aim was to not only call attention to the devastation in Afghanistan; he set out to remind the world that before he last few decades under the world’s scrutinizing eye highlighting the negativity of the country, Afghanistan was a generally peaceful nation.…

Introduction The green marketing of products and services is an important development in the context of emerging economies in Asia. By adopting resource conserving and environmentally-friendly strategies in all the stages of the value chain the firms can satisfy the growing environmental concerns of humanity. In the West, business firms face social and legal pressures to adopt environmentally-friendly business strategies. Many corporations responded to these pressures and adopted environmentally-friendly strategies. For example, Earth Care in the UK built strong competitive advantage and grew very fast since it started its operations. Similarly Ciba Geigy, now part of Novartis, has improved its corporate performance by adopting resource and environment conservation programs. Environmentally-friendly attitudes In Thailand, international companies in personal care products, detergents and petrochemical industries have been pursuing green marketing strategies for some time now. Recently many construction firms, refrigerator manufacturers and processed food companies have also launched programs to contain damage to the environment and project themselves as environmentally-friendly companies. The Thai companies and consumers are increasingly becoming environment conscious and many environmental management initiatives have been launched by different segments of the society. These cover a wide spectrum of environmentally-friendly actions and strategies. Major corporations, both foreign subsidiaries and local companies, are investing in pollution-control equipment…
