I did enjoying when O’Brien talked about the soldier's life in different chapters to get to know them a little better. Towards the end of the reading, a part that I liked and enjoyed was when Tim O’Brien talked about his love for Linda and how they went on their first date when they were nine years old. This just demonstrates how things back then in the 1990’s where better than now and days and you actually ask a girl out and they get nervous and have butterflies, it’s so cute. A part that I could relate to in the story would be where Rat Kiley felt depressed because all his buddies died. When I was little I had a litter puppies and all died and only one lived. The one that lived was very sad and gloomy because her brother and sisters got sick. This affected me because I saw them get sick and there was nothing we could do or the vet, just like Rat Kiley wanted to be a heroic medic. The resolution of the book was somewhat disturbing but satisfying becauses, there was lots of details and at the end it left you wanting to know more about Tim O'Brien's
