Bob Mrzyglod, a diesel technician with Aim NationaLease, Girard, OH, was named Top Tech for the third consecutive year at NationaLease's 4th Annual Tech Challenge, a national competition of technicians representing the organization's full service truck leasing companies from the U.S. and Canada.
Mrzyglod's award was presented after a day-long competition among the nine regional winners who qualified to take part in the Tech Challenge. This year it was held at the Dallas maintenance shop of ATC Truck Rental & Leasing, a NationaLease Member. The award was presented by Andy Stopka, NationaLease Vice President of Member Programs, at the NationaLease Maintenance Managers Meeting in Dallas.
The nine qualifying technicians earned their spots in the competition after first winning an earlier written knowledge exam. At the ATC facility, they competed in the hands-on portion of the event, exhibiting their expertise in stations that included starting and charging, electrical, brakes, wheel ends, HVAC, and engine diagnostics.
Coming in as First Runner-up is Erick Poffenberger of McCoy NationaLease, Rockford, IL, and as Second Runner-up, Brian Peters of Salem NationaLease, Winston Salem, NC.
Mrzyglod, along with the two runner-ups, will now represent the NationaLease organization at the TMC Annual SuperTech Competition to be held this fall.
The other regional winners who participated as worthy challengers in the Tech Challenge are Mark Walls, Fox & James NationaLease; Kory Stoudt, Aim NationaLease; Jeremy Verhagen, McCoy NationaLease; Jeff Weaks, ATC Truck Rental & Leasing, a NationaLease Member; and Chris Bagley, All Fleet Services NationaLease.
