Thus I Refute Beezly Analysis
Personally, I really enjoy “Thus I Refute Beezly” by John Collier, because not only does this short story have conflict, and deeper meanings, but overall i enjoy John Collier’s voice through his writing. In the first place, this short story has conflict between a son and father (man vs man) , conflicts between themselves (man vs self), and the Father, Big Simon engaging a conflict between Mr.Beezly (man vs supernatural). I find these conflicts create suspense, and give the characters quite complex feelings, as the father tends to have a great need to be right. Secondly, I found metaphor throughout the story; BIg Simon washing his hands repeatedly, Little Simon using Mr.Beezly as a security blanket in away, keeping him safe, as examples. For
