The thyroid gland helps produce hormones that controls your metabolism and growth. In addition your thyroid needs iodine, which is a chemical element that absorbs food and water, so your thyroid can do its job. The symptoms of Thyroid disease such as Hashimoto Thyroiditis are very extravagant. The symptoms are depression, constipation, pain and stiffness, dry skin, unexplainable weight gain, rough voice, puffy face, and excessive bleeding. Although symptoms for thyroid disease are extreme to manage their is a treatment. The treatment is to take synthetic thyroid hormone everyday to reduce the symptoms. However there is a treatment there are challenges for teens to face.
Daily Challenges A teen who has Thyroid disease has many daily challenges to face. One of the challenges that female teens have to face is irregular period. For challenges that both genders they have to face are depression, fatigue, and controlling their weight. There are multiple ways to overcome these challenges. They can be overcome by exercising, having a balanced meal, and taking their medication on time. Overall Thyroid disease of course has few struggles, but they can be overcome.
