Tim Cook Letter To The Apple Community Summary
Tim Cook's letter to the Apple Community is a wonderful example of an effective business message. Prior to reading the letter, I was skeptical of Apple's views and how they justified not paying the tax. After studying the message I have a better understanding of Apple's perspective. The vision statement of the organization states, "Man is the creator of change in this world. As such he should be above systems and structures, and not subordinate to them" (Authorstream.com, 2011). Apple’s vision is geared more toward ensuring that individuals and organizations master the tasks of customer interaction, strategic planning to fulfill objectives, and to assist in the financial and operational structure of an organization. Through the corporate philosophy of play hard, work hard, Apple Inc.’s mission statement “is committed to bringing the best personal computing experience to students, educators, creative professionals and consumers around the world through its innovative hardware, software and internet offerings” (Lewis, 2012, Para. 1).…

Apple is going through major restructuring to regain control of its operations and finances in order to stay competitive on the global market. Apple corporate culture has been constantly changing with the changes in its CEOs in the past. Tim Cook does an exceptional job on exemplifying ethical communication. In his letter, Cook seems very honest and truthful man who knows what he is talking about when it comes to the company Apple. We recognize what he is saying is correct because he can back it up with facts, such as “Apple has helped create and sustain more than 1.5 million jobs across Europe” and “Apple has become the largest taxpayer in Ireland, the largest taxpayer in the United States, and the largest taxpayer in the world.” Without a doubt, one could easily tell that Cook believes Apple is being ripped off and treated unfairly of tax fraud. Cook points out some of the reasons how Apple has maintained a solid credibility. He mentions, “In Ireland and in every country…

In reality though, as shown in Isaacson’s book, both the ups and downs that Apple has gone…
