time management and my success in college
MY SUCCESS IN COLLEGE
Time is a valuable resource that leads to chaos and disorder when mismanaged. Time management is the ability to do the right thing at the right time, in the right manner and at the right place. Success is a goal that has accomplished its intended purpose. Thus time management enables me to get my work together, prepare for the future and be organized in the best possible and most effective way in order to accomplish a set goal. There are therefore numerous ways in which my success in college would depend highly on how well I manage my time.
Firstly, time management helps me to have a steady time schedule. With this schedule, I am able to plan my work and avoid procrastination. I know when to do what and the right time to do it. Scheduling my work helps me plan out important educational and social events so that I don’t miss out on any important occasions happening in my life be it at home or at school. Apart from this, assignments get done in time and are handed in on time. In this way, I compromise neither my social life nor my school work. After all there is the saying that goes “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”.
Secondly, managing my time the proper way enables me to have free time for creative hours. Creativity plays a major role in my life especially since I’m an architecture student. There is need for creativity if I am to erect a physical structure out of nothing. I have to use my creativity and think using the left side of my brain. Proper time management allows me to have the extra time that I need to do so, to let my artistic talents shine so that I can excel in my academic life. Edward De Bono said, “Man owes his success to creativity”, and indeed man does.
Time management apart from the above mentioned relieves me of stress that I may face due to assignments and exams and matters of the heart, but time management aids me in this as I am well organized and thus I meet all the necessary deadlines. Doing everything
