Cleopatra was born into royalty in Egypt and soon became the pharaoh. Over her life she co-ruled with two of her brothers and her son. After Cleopatra's dad died Cleopatra and her brother, Ptolemy XIII, took over Egypt in their dad's absent. Cleopatra, only 18, married her 10 year old brother and became the pharaoh of Egypt. Cleopatra first enters Rome rolled up in a carpet to meet caesar ("Timeline of Life of Cleopatra"). She immediately asks him to regain the throne from her brother and being charmed by the young lady he says yes. Shortly after Cleopatra took back Egypt, Caesar with her for a year leaving Rome vulnerable. Together they had a baby boy, Caesarion, who later becomes a pharaoh(Wright). I would not say Cleopatra and Caesar were the best couple considering they both just used each other. Caesar had many women in his life for pleasure and he did not keep any of them around for too long. Cleopatra used him to get Egypt back and use his war knowledge to be the best ruler she could be ("Timeline of Life of Cleopatra"). Cleopatra flees back to Egypt after Caesar is assassinated by the men of Rome and Antony becomes one the new co leaders of Rome. Since Cleopatra knew that Rome’s new leaders were hungry for more land and Rome was still a stronger country she decide to offer her army and navy to Antony for an alliance with Rome. Cleopatra had impressed Antony just like she did Caesar. Together they had three children (Wright). Antony,a very wealthy man, was so captivated by Cleopatra that he gave up all his plans to be with her ("Timeline of Life of Cleopatra"). What she did may have made Egypt strong and powerful, but doing so left Rome
