A lesson that both of these passages can teach is that you are obligated to be of use , and that once you are of
use, you should be satisfied with yourself. Passage one gets this lesson across in a form of a story. The narrator tells us a story of his use to others and how satisfied he was with himself once he completed his obligation. The second passage uses a poem to teach us this lesson. The poem is a first person writing in which the narrator is sharing their thoughts with us. The narrator feels strongly about people that are very dedicated and focused on their duties. The lesson is clearly shown in the first two lines of the poem , “The people I love the best jump into work head first.”
Its shows that the narrator , along with many others, enjoy being around people that dedicate themselves to what they are doing.
