As a matter of fact, the last character that displays social prejudice in the novel is Aunt Alexandra. Aunt Alexandra is all about social class. She does not let Scout and Jem play with Walter Cunningham, because his family is below their social class. One of the most prominent moments that comes to mind is when Aunt Alexandra would not let Scout associate with Walter Cunningham after the trial. When Scout learns that one of the Cunninghams was on the jury and fought for an all out acquittal, she is determined to invite Walter over and become his friend. However, Aunt Alexandra is repelled at the thought, because the Cunninghams are considered to be “white trash.” Scout belongs to a different social status and based on Aunt Alexandra she is not to associate with someone beneath her. This shows social prejudice, because Aunt Alexandra displays negative attitude to the Cunningham family based on their social status. If the Cunninghams weren't a lower class Aunt Alexandra wouldn't bother, but of course she does. It seems that in this world being yourself, and deciding who you want to surround yourself with isn't good enough. In conclusion, all of these examples show social prejudice.
