To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most successful books in history. The author of this book (Harper Lee) Used very effective methods of writing to accomplish this. Firstly is her use of foreshadowing which is a way to capture the audiences attention and keep them in suspense. Secondly Harper Lee uses and interesting choice of narration to influence the readers interpritation of the novel. Lastly, the author uses symbolism which is how she successfully got the readers to think about the contents and details of the novel. Overall, To Kill a Mockingbird's great success is greatly due to the use of these three techniques.
The first reason this novel is so Superior is it’s crafty use of foreshadowing. The main example of this would be the novels title. This is a common way of foreshadowing for all novels because it indicates a lot about the book. Furthermore the quote “it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird” is used throughout the book to indicate that they are important. In general, foreshadowing is a common technique to cause the reader think about the novel.

Harper Lee oddly chooses a child's voice to be the narrator for the novel, but for she uses the child’s voice for a reason. A child is used to represent the voice of innocence, because a child cannot fully understand the concepts such as racism and discrimination, where as an adult would be more accepting towards it because they have had more experience with such things. If the novel was from the point of view of a person older, the interpretation of the novel would be completely different.
