Chapter 6: 1. Jem and Dill could get caught and get seriously hurt by the Radley's. Scout is starting to listen to Atticus and is learning empathy. She does not want Jem and Dill to disturb the Radley's because they have not been in their skin. She also knows that Atticus and the rest of the neighborhood would not approve of this. 2. Mr. Nathan Radley thinks he fired a shot in the air to scare off an African-American in his collard patch. Miss Stephanie claims that Mr. Nathan won't aim high and miss next time. 3. Dill's explanation almost got them in trouble because kids are not supposed to be playing poker. Miss Rachel did not want the kids playing.
Chapter 7: 4. He doesn’t want to stalk Boo anymore and he feels badly about what they did. 5. Jem reveals that his pants had been mended, folded and laid across the fence for his return. 6. They find a ball of gray twine, two carved soap figures of children, a whole pack of gum, a spelling medal, and a pocket watch and chain with a knife attached. 7. Mr. Nathan fills in the hole with cement, claiming the tree is dying.
Chapter 8: 8. She wants to know if he saw Boo. Atticus tells her very little. 9. They create a snowman to look just like Mr. Avery. Miss Maudie and Atticus tell them that that was wrong, but they are secretly amused. 10. It is what she valued the most. 11. He realizes that they were close to seeing Boo. 12. He wants to make sure Jem and Scout don’t bother Boo.
Chapter 9: 13. He believe he should defend him to the best of his ability. It is unusual for a white lawyer to care so much about defending a black man. 14. They like Christmas because they get to see Uncle Jack, they get to eat a lot, and they get presents. They don’t like it because they have to see their aunt and cousin. 15. This means that he thinks she is acting older than she is. He says this because of her language
