In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom engages in some dangerous but fun adventures. There are times that Tom can be considered a leader and there are times Tom sits back and is a follower. Tom takes the follower position when Huck wants to go to the graveyard. He also takes the follower position when Huck wants to take the oath to keep mum about the murder that happened when they were at the graveyard.Tom takes the Leader position most of the time. He takes that position when Huck wants to leave the graveyard because people are in the graveyard. He also takes the position of the Leader when Aunt Polly wants him to whitewash the fence, he tricks his friends into whitewashing the fence for him. Huck does not want to go the cave, but Tom talks Huck into going to the cave. Tom tells
Huck “I’ll take you right to it in a skiff.I’ll float the skiff down there, and i'll pull it back again all by myself.” He also says “ You needn’t ever turn your hand over.” That shows That Tom is a leader because a leader will do anything to do what he wants to do. Tom tells Huck, he will do all that so that shows that Tom is a leader and will do anything for that treasure
While that is all true Tom takes the follower position when Huck decides to take the oath about keeping mum about the murder they witness at the graveyard. Tom follows in Huck's footsteps when taking the oath. Whatever Huck does Tom does the exactly the same.
While Tom goes on many adventures he takes the leader most of the time. He took the leader position In the cave,the graveyard and when whitewashing the fence. He may take the follower position sometimes, but more than likely he will take the leader position and do his best at what he is
