Tornadoes are the most violent form of weather. A tornado forms when different temperatures meet. When warm air and cold air meet, the cold air traps the warm air therefore the warm air can not move upward. This causes it to rotate, creating a tornado. As the tornado is twisting it builds up more velocity and power damaging anything in its path. “The overwhelming majority of damaging tornadoes are spawned by what are known as supercell thunderstorms” (Markowski and Yvette 27). Supercell tornados are the most violent form of tornado, and cause the most damage due to the strong winds these tornadoes create. Supercells are defined by the persistent rotating updraft. The scale of the updraft is 5-10 kilometers wide which means it is much bigger than a normal tornado. Supercells are commonly found in midlatitudes and are about 100 times vertical vorticity with the rotation of Earth’s axis. (Markowski and Yvette 26, 27, 28, 30). Tornadoes can be as violent as the supercells, or less …show more content…
Tornados also happen anywhere from early ages to modern time, and happen in past, present and will happen in the future. Warnings about tornadoes have also been around for many years and with new technology the warning systems have gotten better they keep the public safe from any type of tornado coming their way. Ultimately tornadoes are violent storms, tornadoes have happened in the past, and tornado warning systems can protect the public and keep them informed about tornadoes in the vicinity. Tornadoes, are the disaster in the air waiting to
