The sculpture is taller than the height of an average man and it extends upward. The base of the sculpture is a rectangular form which conveys stability. The sculpture illustrates a woman holding a baby and beneath her is a man, although they are not completely realistic they are very easily identifiable. In my opinion what I see in this piece of are is family and unity.
The pillar is not painted to it is the color of the wood it was carved from which is brown, which to me gives off an earthly and natural feeling. The wood appears to be smooth texture and it almost looks as if it is polished over. There are many patterns that are carved all over the surface of the sculpture, after researching this particular sculpture a little more I found that these patterns are called “mender patterning” which in this piece of work it looks as though they resemble the waves of

The sculpture is located at the FIU Frost Art Museum. The medium used by the artist to create this sculpture was a ceramic tile. The mass of the sculpture is small. The artist created a sculpture in high relief which he then painted and covered in gloss making the visual texture of the sculpture smooth. Some of the formal elements used by the artist were intense hues of blue as the background for the sky . The Airman himself which is the focal point of the sculpture is painted in light shades of beige and intense whites as well as the four airplanes flying above him. The sculpture is not symmetrical the Airman covers most of the sculpture giving the illusion that the airplanes are flying high above him in the sky. This was done using the linear…

The sculptures' color is natural granodiorite. The detail level is high, which makes the sculpture appear more realistic. They have carved the details out and worked with them to make them as smooth as possible. It is detailed; you can see the female shapes in the breasts and in the hip area. When you go down to the detail level, especially the face and hands are prominent. The head is a lioness head and the eyes are small and intense. It is easily to spot that there is lionesses’ head, because of the high detail level. You can see all the shapes, from the ears to the mouth. When you the face on profile you can see that it looks very lifelike. Her hand also looks lifelike, together with her feet. The knees are prominent an easily noticeable through the clothes. The artist have made a sculpture that has several female attributes such as her sitting position, with a straight back and narrow shoulders. Whereas her hips are wider than they would have been on a man. Also her torso are seen as thinner than on an average…

Like the gardens it is an interactive piece. The silver ring represents the glass decanter. Black metal seems to spray from it, and bubbly, wavy shapes act like spills. The flat sculpture seems to have depth to it, and movement, since it may splash down at a moment’s notice.…

This sculpture falls in the modern art category and the style is abstract expressionism. This sculpture is very large it is actually 110cm. The artist that created this sculpture was one of the many fine French Sculptors, he was one of the younger generation who started out as a Symbolist painter as well as a tapestry designer but he got an eye disease around the age of 40 and he had to give these things up but then found love for sculpting . This artist had a love for Greek sculpture but he rejected some of what it stood for. This piece of work symbolizes some sort of emotion from an older more mature female, she seems to be thinking about something going on in her life or maybe even crying out for help, the position that the woman is in ( elbow on the left leg which is raised, other hand touching the ground and head down) shows us that this woman is clearly trying to gain some sort of comfort.…

The shoulders are rounded and there is a long oval indentation that resembles a neckline for a dress. Where the neckline is exposed, there is a layer that covers the figures breasts and appears to be similar to an undergarment for the dress that the sculpture is wearing. On the right side of the…

The front of the sculpture is half in the round where the viewer can walk around to look at the details, but the back of the sculpture is situated against the wall. The material is marble, where the color was perhaps white to light eggshell cream color and some light dirt spots due to inevitable of time. It was hard to tell the color of the statue due to the yellow color ceiling lights pointing directly at the statue. However, due to the direction of the light, it created shadows from the face, following to the fold of the fabrics, and then to the back of the statue. The statue is in a contrapposto pose where the right leg is facing forward and the left leg is slightly bended at an almost 90 degrees angle.…

This sculpture shows an eagle and a man. The bird is sitting upright on the left hand side of the sculpture and the man is crouching to the right of him. The man is facing the eagle and feeding it from a bowl in his left hand. In the man’s right hand there is a pitcher. The man is wearing a pointed hat with flaps, and he has curly hair. The man appears to be young, around 25. Between the man's right arm and his right thigh is a clock like cloth that drapes behind the man. This man is crouching down and his back and shoulders are hunched over. His right knee is touching the ground and his left foot is flat on the floor making his left knee level with his right hand and the bowl. The man’s eyes are looking at the eagle's eyes, but the eagle is looking into the bowl that he is drinking or eating from. The point of the man’s hat is bent forward in a way that mimics the eagles head. The eagle is shown in hieratic scale, almost as large as the man. The man is crouching down in a servant like position, and is performing…
