When thinking about traffic, I’ve a funny imagination of circulatory system. We need circulatory system to pass nutrients, blood cells, hormones through the human body, so does with the traffic. Traffic is one of the most important thing that every countries must pay much concern. And traffic in Viet Nam, what we’ve done in 10 years? 1 Good and bad improvements We should talk about the good first: For 10 years, we completed some main roads contributing to the socio- economic development such as Ben Thuy,Thai Binh bridges, national road No1( highway)… Mountainous or rural transport in this period was also given much care of the government for new lands, upgrading the old lands, broadening alleys. Going along with the economic development, traffic in Viet Nam has a great jump that is surprising. We can easily realize the changes. Ten years ago, the traffic was not as busy as nowadays. Even in the craziest dream, I had never dreamt of riding a motorbike( at that time: having a motorbike is quite luxury). Now you can own a motorbike with a small amount of money; and if you have enough money, you can own a private car. Apparently, the life’s standard is going up, it is expressed by the number of automobile driven on the roads. But is it good or bad? Is it the sign of Viet Nam economic’s Wake Up. In fact, transport doesn’t go a step ahead to meet the development’s requirements of the national economy. The traffic can be a nightmare for visitors to Viet Nam for the first time. Believe it or not, there are transport rules but people don’t seem really interested in following them. Three or four people on one motorbike is a common sight, particularly with the young. Every day, there’re accidents we see and fear, which about 30 people die per day according to some data on traffic accidents. These animals are on the second trophic level. These animals can use the 6000 Kilocalories per square meters per year produced by the plants, but the most of this energy is used up in the processes of living, such as breathing, circulating the blood, growth, and reproduction. Only about one tenth of the energy is stored in the bodies of the herbivores, so animals eating these herbivores can only get 600 Kilocalories per square meters per year from their bodies. The small carnivores, the secondary consumers, form the third trophic level. Many of these animals, such as woodpeckers and skunks, eat insects, while others, such as racoons, foxes, and snakes, eat the small rodents and frogs.     In an article entitled “Fuming over first-car scheme”, Pichaya Svasti presents her opinion against the government’s first-car scheme. Firstly, the author claims that the government's first-car scheme has caused traffic more congested. The program allows new car buyers to claim tax rebates of up to 100,000 baht per vehicle per person. And as of Dec 12 more than 1.05 million new car owners have registered for tax rebates totaling 77.1 billion baht. According to Bangkok’s traffic getting worse, people not only Thais but also foreigners wondered why the government wanted more Thais to use personal cars instead of public transport and if the sum of rebated taxes money was not returned to the first-car buyers, it could be spent more effectively on improving public transport system like constructing more underground or sky train routes. The author believes that the new cars from the scheme will cause more consumption of petrol and gas, air pollution and traffic problems. And this may stimulate the construction of more roads instead of public transportation. Nevertheless, many people agree with the government's first-car scheme saying that they need to use personal car to travel far since public transport is insufficient. Some others think the scheme will benefit the economy but actually it will benefit in the short run and unfortunately, it has not benefited all businesses because consumers have been saving money and spending more carefully to pay for their cars so they buy less of lifestyle products. At last, the author said that she decided to opt for public transport and bicycles.     During exercise 1, our group have observed the traffic conditions on Clementi Avenue 6 from AYE into the road section in the video. At the same time, we measured the number of the vehicle on the road by 5 minutes interval, four lanes and different types of vehicles. We decided a dummy line on separate lane to count the number of vehicles as well as categorize the vehicles by six types as motorcycle, car, van, bus, goods truck and truck. Through the data processing after observation, we made some tables, bar and pie graphs to demonstrate the data clearly. And we can tell the different traffic conditions among different lanes and vehicles easily from those charts. The tables contain the detailed data of the different types of vehicles that passed the dummy line within 30 minutes. The bar graphs demonstrate traffic flow of separate types of vehicles with 5-minute interval in 30 minutes. The pie graphs show the percentage of different types of vehicles within 30 minutes.
