Transformational Ministry Analysis

.Ministry is a lifelong transformational process, that requires deep soul work, which engages various hearts and minds to serve humanity in the present age. Transformational ministry speaks to the holistic needs of its context and its surrounding communities. In order for transformation to take place ministry leaders must be mission driven with purpose entrenched to asking tough questions yet to be explored, provoking the status quo, and challenging the field to rethink what is often unquestioned. My purpose is uniquely designed to give an active participatory voice to local African Methodist Episcopal church congregations, in leadership transition within the itineracy. When decisions are made concerning transitioning spiritual leadership to another location local churches are the most affected but are not heard in the decision-making process. These decisions can lead to churches producing an unwelcoming presence for potential clergy families and refusal for ministry to be done within the life of the church. As a newly transitioned pastor of a 75-member congregation located in Manning SC, I feel that my administration and pastoral skills can develop a communal model, from the African principle of Ubuntu or Botho, that invites local congregation into the decision-making process of the
This local congregation is the only A.M.E Congregation within city limits and has a long-standing history embracing culture and a rich heritage. Historic Trinity has been in existence for 146 years with only twenty pastors selected to serve as their spiritual leaders. Trinity’s previous spiritual leader passed recently passed away leaving the congregation in transitional turmoil and in grief for their beloved leader.
