Trappist-1 Research Paper
In 1999, John Gizis, a professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Delaware, discovered one of the most important stars in NASA's history. Sadly this discovery wasn’t noticed until 2016. This discovery was the “Trappist-1” system. The discovery of the Trappist system helps build upon the fact of we are not alone in the universe. Trappist-1 includes a sun slightly larger than jupiter and seven orbiting planets,
Most planets have sizes and masses comparable to the earth, and the size of the system is from mercury to mars. Trappist is located about 39 light-years away. It’s speculated that The planets of trappist are such a short distance away, debri could hit the another one of the planets.Though the processes of panspermia, any

As we started the first program, we answered a few questions to make sure we knew the general idea of stars. Then we labeled the altitude and azimuth of five objects. Aldebran had a altitude of 54o and an azimuth of 203o. Betelgeuse had an altitude of 47o and an azimuth of 203o. Castor had an altitude of 62o and an azimuth 118o. Deneb had an altitude of 13o and an azimuth of 328o. Elnath had an altitude of 68o and an azimuth of 184o. After that, we looked at the right ascension and declination (RA and DEC). Aldebran had a RA of 4.6 hours and a DEC of 16o. Elnath had an RA of 5.3 hours and a DEC of 28o. Betelgeuse had an RA of 5.9 hours and a DEC of 8o. Castor had an RA of 7.6 hours and a DEC of 32o. Deneb had an RA of 20.7 hours and a DEC of 46o. Finally we looked at the Big Dipper and the Cassopia to find the star Polaris.…

The second event that I went to was an observing done by Dr. Miller and his pal, that for the life of me I cannot remember. We all went out on March 20th, stopped for candy bars first! And then proceeded to the observatory. We observed Venus, Mars, Jupiter (and it’s 3 moons) and also talked about a few star constellations as well. Venus, that night was in it’s gibbous phase, and as I observed I noticed that Venus was a whole lot brighter in the sky to the naked eye than Jupiter and its three moons were. We looked directly behind us and saw Mars, which gave off a very dull red hue, but again this was probably due to us just viewing it with the naked eye. Dr. Miller also explained a lot about the star constellations, but one thing that stuck out to me was that the star Sirus, has a cousin that is a white dwarf star.…

The stars are the majority and most widely acknowledged astronomical components that symbolize the most essential development of the galaxies. The disbursement, age, and the framework of the night sky in the galaxy maintain a record of the heritage, evolution and characteristics of our galaxy. More important the stars are integral to the fabrication and allocation of heavy elements. Notably corresponding to oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen, is intimately associated with the capabilities of the planetary models, which in turn associate about them. Previously, the analysis of the conception, longevity, and…

This essay is of a woman astronomer Caroline Herschel. Herschel was the first lady to discover a comet. The reason why I chose this topic is because apart from being a women astronomer she also showed her prominence in mathematics. She hailed from a musician background but her fortune brought her to the field of astronomy and today we stand witnessing vital discoveries such as of comets, which is a very significant topic of research in this modern era. She has been recognized and honored worldwide for her work.…

The miraculous wonders and miracles of Jesus made many question their lives, faith, and even their god’s. People took dramatic steps and completely turned their life 180 degrees in the other direction, while some people denied Jesus and His works. Those people were ignorant and had little faith that Jesus could do these miracles. Nicodemus was one of those people. Nicodemus is presented in the book of John. He is presented in such a way that he questions Christ and His signs and wonders.…

Not only did The Apollo Program prove NASA’s capabilities, but other space projects have also had significant accomplishments. Throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s, various spacecrafts were sent into space to explore the Earth, Sun, Mercury, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Jupiter. NASA’s Discovery program, one of their low cost missions that focuses on the solar system, sent the Hubble Space Telescope in April 1990 to orbit Earth and take photographs of its atmosphere. The photos taken by Hubble “revolutionized ideas about the universe, contributing to the discovery of dark energy, a force that caused the universe to expand at an ever-increasing rate, and the discovery and characterization of planets outside the solar system” (Flynn). For centuries, humans have had limited knowledge about space and the planets that occupy it, however, The Hubble Space Telescope expanded the world’s knowledge on astronomy.…

Although not the first space telescope, Hubble is one of the largest and most versatile, and is well known as both a vital research tool and a public relations boon for astronomy. The HST was built by the United States space agency NASA, with contributions from the European Space Agency, and is operated by the Space Telescope Science Institute. The HST is one of NASA's Great Observatories, along with the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory, the Chandra X-ray Observatory, and the Spitzer Space Telescope.…

Diatom is part of the stramenopiles clade, which is considered to be plant-like autotrophs that are often called algae. These autotrophs are mainly photosynthetic using chlorophylls a, chlorophylls c and xanthophyll to undergo photosynthesis to convert energy from the sun. Some species of Diatom are colorless, but those that do have color get it from various pigments. Diatom have two halves of their cell wall making up what’s called a silica cell wall. The soft part of the cell wall decomposes, but the silica cell wall still remains after they die. After decomposing it builds up to make diatomaceous earth, which has many uses. It can be used for filters, insulation, abrasives, glazes and insecticides.…
