This third party, unfortunately, are playing a passive role in conflict resolution in Myanmar. The U.S. is only actively imposing sanctions and embargos without any intention for humanitarian intervention. China, in the other hand, has an economic strong bond with the Junta regime and has declared its intention to promote peaceful rise policy which is preventing it from any form of humanitarian intervention. In addition, China has already suffering from the Burmese political reform; its investment is undermined by the new Burmese political landscape (Parameswaran, 2015).
