The Truth Behind Zombies
America’s most feared icon of the 21st century is none other than zombies. Most people think of zombies as horror fiction characters that mutilate humans and take over the world but there is more to them than meets the eye. There is even true logical and scientific reasoning behind this possible phenomenon. there are several explanations of how zombies could become a reality like voodoo rituals, mutating diseases, and even ant controlling funguses. We would all love to imagine zombies as a fictional character, but science has shown that every day could be one day closer to a zombie reality.

The disease is bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) or what most people know as Mad Cow Disease. It first appeared in Great Britain in 1986. It has now spread to two dozen countries including Canada and the United States. BSE has already altered to affect humans. This is known as the Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease , and although the disease is very rare it has happened. Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease is characterized by rapidly progressive dementia. Initially, individuals experience problems with muscular coordination; personality changes, including impaired memory, judgment, and thinking; and impaired vision. People with the disease also may experience insomnia, depression, or unusual sensations. The symptoms of the Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease are not as aggressive as the BSE but still show signs of zombie-like behavior. When cows are infected with BSE, they show symptoms of nervous or aggressive behavior, abnormal posture, incoordination, difficulty standing, decreased milk production, and weight loss. If the Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease starts to show symptoms similar to
