Frankenstein is different than current zombies because we understood how and why Frankenstein was created. Additionally we understand who his creator was and the reason why Frankenstein became who he was. Modern day zombies are not understood and we hardly ever see why the zombies are present or why they attack humans. are there. Current zombies in shows and films focus on human survival from the attack of the creatures vice understanding the nature of the character as we understand with Frankenstein.
Frankenstein is more human because we see how he was birthed by the person who created him.
Zombies are less human, as they walk the streets, travel in packs, and they do not have a voice to inform us why they are attacking or their desire to kill. Frankenstein seems to have true feelings and we have a likeness to him, whereas he has soulful desires of love and hate. Zombies today are a bore, the only way of survival is for them to attack humans for survival, not understanding the reason why they have to. When I read stories or watch shows and movies about zombies, I am not amused on how they are created. It’s either by just showing up, stemming from aliens, or attacking a human in which that human becomes a zombie themselves, which is not
creative.
As Shelley stated, “few creatures of horror have seized readers” imaginations and held them for so long”. Today, zombies and other monsters lack that factor. It is all about the gory killing and jumping at the screen to catch our attention vice understanding the reason why they are indeed zombies or monsters. Which Frankenstein, we understood and is the reason he is the blueprint for all zombies and monster thereafter.
