I decided to chose my truth event as Darwin’s theory of “evolution”. Evolution as outlined by Darwin, was a revolutionary idea. Darwin observed that the individuals in a population differed from one another in their observable characteristics and he named these variable characteristics as “variations”. He stated that the variations existing in a population were selected by the environment. According to Darwin, the individuals with best fitted characteristics to the environment had a higher chance not only to survive but also to reproduce and produce more offspring than the individuals with less fit characteristics. He suggests that a universal ethics doesn’t exist, instead what exists is only the ethics of politics, love, science or arts. Badiou (2001) refers to events as irreducible singularities and the composition of subjects involve events. Badiou (2001) identifies four fundamental subjective types and these are political, scientific, artistic and amorous. He refers to the subject as the bearer of the process of truth and argues that the subject is absolutely nonexistent in the situation before the event (Badiou, 2001). He claims that the human animal who is after his own interests is not in the process of truth. However, the subject is unable to lack the truth because it is from that truth that he constitutes himself. Badiou (2001) claims that it is through truths and subjects of truths, that there is
