(Ex:“Jake Barlow: And here you are defending this creep of a teacher. What does the kid know other than his own, natural-born
patriotism? And then this creep of a teacher comes along and squelches it.”
“Ted Griffen: I’m shocked that a Harrison student should be expelled from one of our schools for singing the national anthem.”)
The two quotes shows that when Philip didn’t tell everyone the whole truth, they fell for it and viewed Miss. Narwin as a bad person. They don’t listen to Miss. Narwin’s side of the story because they assume they know everything based on the story that Philip told them. It’s actually sad that everyone believes what Philip says but they don’t know that kids can lie in order to avoid the truth. Even though Philip’s lie made things complicated for Miss. Narwin, it became complicated for him too. Why? Well, since some people are applauding him for standing up towards Miss. Narwin there were others that didn’t appreciate what he did. Because of them, Philip had no choice but to move to another school. That happens if you don’t take responsibility of your actions.
