“--I walk away, run away, come home as fast as my feet can take me,” June recited. She follows her mother's rules and does as her mother asks. She wants to keep her mother happy. June is getting ready to go to swimming camp. Once she gets there, there is another June. “Your name is Fish Eyes.” The other June always teases her. “Tuesday of the Other June” by Norma Fox Mazer is a story that shows bullying happening and how June deals with it, near the end of the story and June always tries to stay away from Tuesday-- the awful days. Even when the other June makes fun of her and calls her names, June is a good hearted person, follows every rule her mother gives her, and is dishonest sometimes. Like it says before, June follows every rule her, mother gives her. “I dreamed of kicking her, punching, biting, pinching. In the morning I remembered my dreams and felt brave and strong. And then I remembered all the things my mother taught.”
“My arms were covered with bruises. When my mother noticed, I made up a story about tripping on the sidewalk.” She lied to her mother and was dishonest with her. She didn't want her to get mad at her just because she didn't stand up to herself. She is also, dishonest to herself. She has a dream of punching, biting, kicking or doing whatever the other June made her out of. But she listens to what her mother says not what her heart says, so she follows the words of her mother “Be good, Be good, Be good.” As you can see, June is a good hearted person and follows every rule her, mother gives her. June is creative and special the way she is. She always wants to hurt the other June the way the other June hurt her, but uses that good heart of hers to not do such a thing. Even though, she doesn't do what she wants to do, she is doing the right thing, not returning the violence she receives from the other
