him the drive he needed to really speak out and try to make a difference, It was seeing his people being beaten and murdered just because of their skin color. The music was his way of trying to make a stand for his people, and also what he believed was right. Many African Americans took a stand along with him, they no longer wanted to pushed around and bullied by “The white cop”.
When he lived in New York as a child he learned what standing up for his right actually meant, His mother and father were both part of a group called the Black Panther Activists ”It was time to stand and fight for our rights”(https://www.britannica.com/topic/Black-Panther-Party).
His mother, Afeni Shakur was actually in prison on bombing charges during her pregnancy with Tupac. Tupac never actually met his biological father Billy Garland until he was an adult. “Many people do not understand the reason why most minorities support his music, Because they never knew the struggle”(www.Biography.com) Due to tupac not having his father it was really hard for him to become a leader, He had to learn on his own and whatever his mother taught him and what he learned in
school. The closest person to Tupac was his mother, She lead him through everything. His mother taught him how to fight for his rights and that there is nothing wrong with the color of your skin, god made you that way. . “A poor single mother on welfare, tell me how ya did it
There's no way I can pay you back But the plan is to show you that I understand You are appreciated”. He dedicated a song called “Dear Mama” to his mother, This quote is stating that tupac could never repay his mother for all the support she gave him, and even though times were rough she alway found a way to put food on the table. The appreciation tupac had for his mother was outstanding.
In the end Tupac will always be revolutionary because of the huge impact he has on today’s society, and how his music changed the rights of African Americans. I believe tupac is one of the biggest reason why there is no longer discrimination toward African Americans. In his life of hardship, he had to build his way out and better himself. Tupac had also suffered police brutality when he was younger, So he can relate to how it felt to be abused because of his color. During the time he didn’t have his father he had to learn on his own what it was like to be a man and had to help provide for his mother. After his murder, tupac left a legacy of his music that spoke all the words he couldn’t express just from standing by and letting things happen, I believe Tupac will always be a revolutionary in the world and will continued to be taught about as a historical figure.
