How long does it take a patient to see the provider once they have gone through scheduling process and upon arrival to the facility? Medical facilities are consumer based so if a patient feels they are not receiving adequate care or are having their time wasted by waiting 2 hours for an appointment they have had scheduled for a month they are less likely to continue utilizing the services provided and/or find someone else to provide those services to their satisfaction. Based on my personal experiences, not many facilities go out of their way to expedite the process and are vulnerable to patients switching facilities. One convenient way would be to mail out required forms to be filled out so they are ready to process upon arrival and check in. I have spent anywhere from 20-30 minutes trying to gather the appropriate information during what was supposed to be scheduled appointment time. I have seen several facilities encouraging you to arrive early to fill out paperwork but that still ends up wasting time that could have been saved if time management was a priority when they consider their quality and efficiency of patient care (Wojtys & Schley,…
A timeline for implementing a standardized handoff tool could be completed within two weeks at the most. This would give the team of nurses assigned to the project time to construct an outline of the form and the number of sections needed. The form would be limited to one page providing enough space to write all pertinent information down as it relates to the patient. Next, the team would figure out the visual design of the nurse handoff report. Then, the team would create the nurse handoff report and make any necessary changes before providing copies to the staff. Once copies are given to the staff the team would evaluate the effectiveness of the standardized tool over a two week period.…

At the beginning of the Civil War the Union and Confederacy both had their own advantages and disadvantages. Neither the Union nor the Confederacy were prepared for war, however the North had a few advantages the South did not. The Union had more soldiers, more factories, and better railroads than the Confederacy. On the other hand, they were defending their homeland, the Confederacy had better morale and drive (Stewart). The higher levels of morale in the South, however, did not make up for their disadvantages in the beginning of the war.…

A typical day for a CNA would start at 6 am. We would report to the charge nurse and get a report. Then, about 6:15, one would prepare a linen cart for their hall. Between 6:30-8, we start getting residents up and showered and bathed. We answer call lights between residents when we have time, as we’re taking residents to and from breakfast. As residents are coming back from breakfast, we are laying some down or changing them. CNA’s take a 15 min break around 9:15. After our break, we come back and answer call lights, take residents to therapy or activities, and do vitals or weigh the resident for the day. We continue to toilet people and give showers to…
When a child is cognitively delayed caregivers/teachers must try to incorporate the child’s level of ability (Allen, Paasche, Langford, and Nolan, 2006). Several ways to help the child during free play time are the caregivers/teachers have to break down the activity, and go through it step by step in order to help the child complete the task (Allen et al., 2006). The teacher must try to use different types of activities such as, music, movement, and sensory materials. Help the child in these different activities by showing them and interacting with them (Allen et al., 2006). The materials should be easy to use and keeps the child’s interest such as, easy puzzles, crayons, and pictures of everyday things (Allen et al., 2006). An example of an activity the teacher can do is Sand and Water Play, where the child can first hand see the changes of the materials used. They can also make their own hypothesis, this way they open their imagination and start to think (Koralek, Newman, Colker, 1995).…
In an 11- week quick time frame, the APRN has to spend an average of 46 hours per week dedicated to the QI project along with direct patient care. If this clinic routinely allows an APRN to conduct a QI project on a regular basis throughout the year, it takes only 10 hours a week for conducting the QI project and planning. Therefore, APRN can utilize more time for direct patient care and other necessary activities instead of carrying out QI projects in a shorter time period.…
