A key turning point in this film that help us realize the point is right from the beginning where we see Derek killing two black guys in cold blood. When he got out of prison, we could clearly see a change in the physical aspect. He was no longer skinhead and now he was wearing long shirts so that people would not see his Nazi tattoos on his chest and all over his arms. His dialogue changed also. He was no longer talking non-sense about the other race. Contrarily, he was prevented his brother from doing the same mistakes he did by telling him to not trust and to stop attending the Nazi party. Derek kept referencing to his past and did not want his brother to be affected by his mistakes. Another point that makes the character change is the fact that he thoughts that all the white in prison will be one group and trustful. However, by seeing another white shaking hands with another race made him understand that he should not trust own race. Indeed, he thought that he would be safer with the guys that are part of the Nazi group than the other
