Twilight and Pride and Prejudice are two complete different books from different centuries. Twilight was published in 2005 by Stephanie Meyer, while the novel Pride and Prejudice was first published in 1813 by Jane Austen. Still, there are quite a few similarities between the main characters in these two books. Bella Swan from Twilight and Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice are two totally different characters, but at the same time they are much like each other. I am now going to compare how these to characters develop throughout the story and also why they develop. In the end I will assess which of the two characters that made the greatest impression on me.
In Twilight the story is about Bella Swan who moves from phoenix, Arizona to live with her father in Forks, Washington because her mother is going to travel with her new husband. After moving to Forks, Bella finds herself involuntarily drawn to a mysterious, handsome boy called Edward Cullen. After knowing him for a while she learns that he is a member of a vampire family who drinks animal blood rather than human blood. They want to live as normal as possible, and live as normal humans. Edward and Bella fall deeply in love, while a sadistic vampire called James are hunting for Bella. The Cullens do everything they can to defend Bella. She escapes to Phoenix, where James tricks her into confronting him, and he tries to kill her. She is seriously wounded, but Edward rescues her and they return to Forks, having killed James. …show more content…
