This is very similar to Emily’s father, because he invaded her life, and basically took it away from her. In “lush rot” the locals would enjoy their time having fun and drinking tea under the kudzu when it would be sunny outside, but at the same time they would still fear it because of the grotesque aspects it has. snoops has burned down the barn which caused him and his family to be on the run because the confederates are searching for the culprits who burned down the barn. Although he burned the barn for the safety of his family, he didn’t want them to freeze in the middle of the night. Hi burning the barn made him feel powerful because he felt authority. In reality snoops is lonely and used fire to his advantage to fill the emptiness he feels and wants to overcome, but he always felt the emptiness inside him the “fire” he used just made him feel powerful for a short time. This relates to a rose foe Emily because Emily was dating hommer for a while but he didn’t want to make the relationship serious which made Emily so upset .she decided to poison him with arsenic which was her only way of escaping loneness.
