Two Hours Reflection
Hello Mrs. Fernandez. When Torrence McCray and Emelina Valdez were added to my roster, in the end of February, I was asked if I could at least complete two hours for this month. To this request I replied that it was not only possible to complete two hours, but that if I was to carry one two hour session on Friday and another one on Saturday, I could complete four hours, at this time, it was not brought to my attention that two hour sessions are not advisable . Also, at the time of my engagement with this institution I received an email stating that "if you need to hold all the hours in one week, it is fine" this statement highlighted in green. Through this time when it has been needed either to meet the montly required hours or the students

The word great has many meanings – outstanding, eminent, grand, important, extraordinary, noble, etc. - and varies along with the intent of the speaker and on the interpretation of the hearer. Someone may perceive something as great, and yet someone else may see that same thing as horrendous. The greatness of a being is not determined by themselves, but by those around them who experience, and perceive, their greatness through actions and words. In the book, “The Great Gatsby”, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, it is the narrator, Nick, who judges Gatsby as a great person with a “gorgeous” personality. It is his way of perceiving Gatsby that leads us to also find him “great”. Gatsby, through his actions, his dreams and…

    2.00 A Day Reflection

Throughout chapters one to four from the book $2.00 A Day by Kathryn J. Edin and H. Luke Schaefer, I could see a pattern about people trying to find a job and trying to maintain a job. They talk about how hard it is to find a job when they do not have any form of transportation and had to walk to their interview. Many dreamed about “a full-time job paying $13 and hour, a set schedule, and decent working conditions” (Edin and Schaefer,2015, p. 47). With this money they can see themselves having a nice apartment, supplies for their kids, food, and even a used car. When living on $2.00 a day, many have to be smart and turn to “public services like nation’s libraries, food-pantries, homeless shelters, and so on (Edin and Schaefer, 2015, p.99) in order to get things done.…

Each and every day there is an animal that walks within the shadows of humans. It often goes unnoticed by most humans, but their population is growing at alarming rates. Many wildlife biologists have said that this animal is the new top predator in the United States. That animal would be the Coy-wolf - a new four-legged hybrid cross between the Western Coyote and the Eastern wolf. With adaptive instincts from the early generations of the Western Coyote and the large skeletal and frame size of the Eastern Wolf, the Coy-wolf is a very new and dangerous species. Rather than preying on smaller animals like a coyote would do, the coy-wolf has the ability to target animals like deer, young moose, and other mid sized animals. With the ability to learn…

Throughout high school we have always been tasked with different materials to read; whether it be Shakespearean texts, short stories, poems, or just books in general. No matter what though, I love to read. So any text I take in, I am always eager to absorb the words. The texts I have read at the time may have just felt like assignments, but now as I am older, I can see the lessons to be learned within them and how they were a major aspect as to how I view situations in the world around me. I cannot pick a favorite text that I have read throughout my grades nine to twelve years, but I will review a few that made an impact on me.…

A train that derails in a terrible accident is a good comparison for an organization that does not have a strategic plan in periods of catastrophic events. The problem is the train is completely off the original course after clearing the accident scene. A strategic plan with focus on long-term business objectives is important, especially in the event of a crisis. In this paper the subject is a discussion of this week’s objectives among Learning Team C. The discussion includes sustainability of long-term business operations, how global markets affect business strategy, and a long-term strategic management plan for sustainment of organizational performance. Further discussion includes how these topics apply in different fields.…

In one of my dental public health courses, I had a chance to read the novel “The Eleventh Hour” to learn about the American healthcare system. One major feature of the U.S. health care system is the fact that hospitals are so controlled by the insurance companies that they are not always given an incentive for choosing the best treatment option for the patient. In other words, it lacks government involvement (McDermott & Stocks, 2005). The novel also describes how a financial approach to make money and a healthcare approach to save patients are real problems that society is having to deal with and the people it hurts the most is the patients.…
