The students will assess for the understanding of the principles of multiplication. They will be assess using a performance assessment test. They learn to recognize multiplication and division situations, interpret products and quotients, write and solve word problems. There are a total of five word problems, two which the students have to use a graph to solve.

Cluster: Represent and solve problems involving multiplication and division.
Content Standard: 1. Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. [3-OA1]Example: Describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Objective:
Model problems involving multiplication, and division.
a. Students will demonstrate the meaning of multiplication and division of whole numbers through the use of a variety of representations.
b. Use a variety of strategies, graphs, and tools, such as arranged in arrays to model multiplication and division problems.
c. Demonstrate the effect of place value when multiplying whole numbers by 10.
d. Understand division as an unknown-factor problem
e. Understand how to use graphs to solve word problems.
Modifications and accommodations for both special education students and English
Language Learners:
1. Extended time: if a students that meets the requirements they will be allow extra time.
2. Oral translation: For English Language Learners
3. Test content read aloud: The teacher or teacher aid will read aloud test for students.
4. Listen to audio recordings instead of reading text.
5. Have a teacher or teacher aid write down answers given verbally.
6. Taking a test in a quieter room.
