Additionally, JCC stated that "Ms. Pivoda's salary history since hire as a Senior Court Services Analyst mirrors Ms. Thao's salary history.” If you retrieve the detail salary history on Ms. Pivoda, you will find that this statement is FALSE and very MISLEADING. The “Salary History Since Hire” report did not reflect her “monthly salary” upon the her favorably promotion to Sr. CSA position. Contrary to the email confirming Ms. Pivoda starting salary (See Exhibit D email from hiring manager Fred Salimi to HR recruiter), she received 5% above the minimum starting salary of $5983 per month. Again, I wanted to emphasis that Ms. Pivoda did not meet the minimum qualification for the job and shouldn’t have a 5% above the minimum starting salary especially when her salary at the time of promotion was probably 5% less than the…

Conflicts are often started by the utilization of labels. By labeling a certain person or calling them a name it is essentially grouping them into a larger idea or force. In the film Empire of the Sun directed by Steven Spielberg and the novel When the Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka the main characters struggle with identifying which side of World War II they are supposed to be aligned with. The protagonists from both of the works experience a moment where the line between good and bad is extremely thin. Both Jamie and the family are forced to question their allegiances in World War II.…

The term “unfair rates” means that different wages rates or salaries are given to the employees on the basis of age and gender. Under this situation, some employees are asked to work on lower rate on the same position at which the other employees work at relatively higher rate. It is found that the low wage rate of such employees is balanced with higher benefits and stable job promises (Kickul, 2001).…

According to Milkovich and Newman’s textbook, “Internal alignment, refers to the pay relationships among different job, skills, competencies within a single organization.” (p. 11). Even though there is the internal alignment of compensation program, it could not guarantee that sex discrimination will not be happen. Thus, to know this law is very important for everyone. Employees have their right to earn equal pay for equal work. This law is for protecting both men and women from sex discrimination in pay rates. Meanwhile, it is also important for employers which they have to be careful when they use internal alignment as a policy. It is because employees may not understand why they earn less income comparing with people who work as the same job. As the Internal alignment means employees will be paid based on their performance, so the important aspect of this policy is “to be fairness”. In the case of Physician Assisted Suicide, I believe only in certain, extreme, and clearly defined situations should a doctor be allowed to prescribe a drug to terminate a patient’s life. The role of a practicing medical doctor, or a physician, is defined by Mosby’s Dental Dictionary as a practitioner of medicine; one lawfully engaged in the practice of medicine. The essential word in this definition is lawful – physicians must act in a manner that is ethical to their practice and lawful to the country in which they are practicing. In most countries, murder and suicide are unlawful; therefore for a doctor to commit such an act would be considered as crime. For this reason, I stand by my belief that doctors should only prescribe life terminating drugs in certain cases, which I will explain below.…

The illusion that Racism and Bigot is the same creates disturbing comments when discussing current events. Racism is defined as someone who believes their race is the superior race. A bigot is someone who hates others because of their skin complexion or race. The current events with the confederate flags has brought about conversation that these people are racist. This term is correct but misused when discussing the context for the choice of words. Society believes these individuals are racist because displaying the flag is assumed to display hatred. These people who proudly display the confederate flag are racist because they believe the white race is the supreme race. There is nothing wrong with that idea and they have that right to that opinion. Our government is built on the principle of freedom of speech and we can’t apply this natural right to a one way street.…

The employees were grateful for him deciding to stay committed to his work force in the US and since he is still paying the market rate the employees would not benefit by leaving so the pay level cut did not affect the companies ability to retain their workforce.…
