Ulrich Von Gradwitz And Georg Znaeym
Ulrich von Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym were found dead on the outskirts of the forest lands early this morning. The von Gradwitz and Znaeym families have been feuding for over three generations about a narrow strip of woodland.
Authorities speculate that they were killed after a giant tree collapsed onto them due to the storm yesterday and later on came prey to a pack of wolves.
Kailu Curtis, a man from Znaeym’s group revealed, “Mr. Znaeym had headed out to the forest to put an end to Mr.Gradwitz.”
When questioning a man from von Gradwitz’s group, a similar response was given, “My master Gradwitz had went to the forest all-knowing that Znaeym would show up and finally put him to his grave!” Both families are grieving the loss of their leader

On Thursday, September 19, 1991, on a sunny afternoon Erika and Helmut Simon, from Nuremberg in Germany, were enjoying a vacation walking through icy landscape high up on a mountain overlooking the Otz valley in the Alpine borderlands between Austria and Italy. On their descent from a peak near Tisenjoch they wandered of a little from the recommended route in the hope of finding a short cut and, as they roamed an elevated plateau near a drawn back mountain glacier at 3.21 kilometers above sea level, they passed a gully filled with thawing ice and melt-water within which they noticed something odd. Further investigation showed this object to be an actual human corpse. These remains, originally thought to be those of a mountaineer or hill-walker who had died on the mountain in comparatively recent times, eventually became famous as belonging to Otzi who died around 5,300 years ago!…

First, Sergeant Major Reinhold von Rumpel, an Aryan jeweler in Europe, was recruited by the autocratic regime to identify treasures pilfered from capitulated countries. Initially, von Rumpel’s duties excited him and he was proud to be a gemologist for the institution of the Führer Museum. The war had given him opportunities to handle “things he did not dream he would see in six lifetimes”, like “a seventeenth century globe…with rubies to mark volcanoes, sapphires clustered at the poles, and diamonds for world capitals” (142). The eager sergeant’s wishes became reality, but he would soon come to grasp under the pressure of his poor health, the emptiness of his life. The turning point in von Rumpel’s attitude toward his career involved the progression of his lymphoma and groin cancer,…

Many authors use foreshadowing throughout their stories to warn the reader about a particular event that occurs later in the story. It is a literary device defined as being the act of presenting indications beforehand. Saki, the author of the short story “The Interlopers”, is a great example in how authors use foreshadowing in presenting their work of literature to the readers. In short summary, “The Interlopers” is a short story that tells a tale about two characters who have been enemies since birth. In the beginning of the story, Ulrich von Gradwitz, the protagonist, goes out to the forest even though it is not safe. Later in the story Ulrich has second thoughts, and wants to resolve things with Georg Znaeym, the antagonist, but nobody will know about it. Into the end of the story the two characters seek rescue, but from the sound of Ulrich’s laugh rescue is far away. Just by the given information, one can easily perceive how the author, Saki, uses foreshadowing to hint the readers that things aren’t always what they may seem. In the short story “The Interlopers”, the author uses foreshadowing to warn the reader that events will turn out the opposite way then they were supposed to.…

I did not know then how much was ended. When I look back now from this high hill of my old age, I can still see the butchered women and children lying heaped and scattered all along the crooked gulch as plain as when I saw them with eyes still young. Stanley Cohen (1973) suggests that the media depiction of anti-social behaviour helps to construct folk devils. Folk devils become the focus of public fears and anxieties. They are made to stand for wider problems and concerns and, in the process, become the figures who exemplify ‘what is wrong with society today’. Today’s folk devils might be the ‘yobs’, ‘hoodies’, ‘yobettes’ or ‘alco-yobs’ referred to in newspaper headlines. In Cohen’s original study they were the ‘mods’ and ‘rockers’, members of two youth cultures who sometimes fought each other and attacked seaside shops in mid-1960’s Britain.…
