Uncle Sam was a nickname for the United States. The name is related to a meat packer from Troy, New York, named Samuel Wilson. as the nickname for the U.S. Federal Government. Uncle Sam was a way to try to get people’s hopes up, try to make a symbol to get people to have something to lighten up the mood, it was something that everybody could talk about and have a good laugh about it.
Walter Camp, also known as “Father of American football”, helped invent football.
Walter wanted football to not only be a game just tackle people, but a game where people could come together, in a community, and in a nation. Coming together in a community, or nation helps makes each person in that community or nation stronger, and better.
One thing that helps bring the nation together, is pledging allegiance to the flag. To some people, to the Pledge might just be a short song people say, but to other people, it means more than that, it means bringing honour to all of those who helped rise this nation, all of those who sacrificed everything to make this nation stronger, so by saying “I Pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the republic, for which it stands, one nation under God. Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” you are respecting all of those who have fallen. Coming together helps makes this nation stronger by helping each-other out, and knowing the right, or wrong of certain thing. By having this nation stronger as multiple of community, make this nation’s relationship with each other even more unbreakable, and more powerful, so it doesn’t matter what the situation is, whether if it's a bad flood or a shooting, us as a nation will always find a way to help each other in need, so even if it's a bad event that happens, the only outcome that really matters, is how we come together to help people who got affected, and that, is how I describe what makes us
Americans.
