One possible reason women may be paid less than men is the false believe that men work much harder than women. Of course men may work jobs that require a lot more strength and endurance than some women can handle, but this does not imply that they are harder workers than women. Another possible reason for why women receive less pay than men is a result of what society has dubbed as jobs for women and jobs for men. Jobs that are typically thought of as women’s jobs only and for which women normally tend to work, often harbor less danger and risk which often pays less than what a typical man’s job would pay.
