If you are a high school student, life without basketball has to be incomplete. We all had gathered at the school gymnasium, ready to play the game.It was challenging at first, but with daily practice, this game is a piece of cake. Ever since, I have represented my school for many matches. I have represented my school for many matches. I have managed to gather many fans as well; but today is the toughest challenge: National level. Practice, practice and practice. It is believed that it makes a man perfect. But, when you practice everyday for six hours, you are bound to get tired. My friends and I, who were famous around the city were scared whether we will win this match.

The whistle blew. The clock began to tick. The match had started. I was the captain of the team. The game started off slowly. My team was doing well. We scored in the first half hour. But later, the tables turned.....We could not score at all. What more, none of us could even get a hold of the ball. The opposing team soon caught up and then left us behind.

During half-time, I decided that I had to do something. The match was in my hands, and I had to think of a plan which would show all the basketball fans where we , the Tiger Club, belonged to, It was at this time, when my fellow teammate pretended to be the captain. This angered me; and we argued after that little did we know that this could make a disorganized team, who managed to reach the final match, would turn into a total disaster.

Luckily, the argument heated up the match. The score was 83-91; although we were still losing. I knew that we could win the tournament. I wanted to tell the team about what I had planned during the break, but thanks to Josh, I think I had seen through the future already. He came up to me and told me the plan, he had a thought of surprisingly, his was better than mine and it worked! Somehow, with some more

Going into Sunday we had to beat South Portland by two goals and not let them score. We ended up tying them 3-3 and we got eliminated because Winslow beat Westbrook 4-0.…

And to finish up that inning we just got a couple ground balls and we turned a double play. And for the next few innings nothing really happened both teams were struggling to hit. Now it's like the 5th inning and we have the top of our hitting order up so we had:Liam,Luke,Ryan,Alex as our 1,2,3,4 hitters. And we got a rally going and we scored a couple runs so at this point the score is 5-1 and we have the lead so then I go into the 6th inning to pitch and I can only do ⅔ of the inning so than Ryan comes in and pitches and to finish out the 7th Alex pitches a 3 strikeout inning. So the game was over and the presedent of the league gave me the game ball to keep and bring home and everyone on our team got a trophy to take home after we won we were all so happy that we won the championship because it was or a lot of people the first time they won something. The…

After the third and fourth quarter we ended the game 44-6 with 36 points scored by me. Third quarter 12 points were made by me, and fourth quarter one 3 point shot was scored by me. After the game was over we went and got ice cream for the whole team. We all chose our favorite ice cream then devoured our ice creams as a team. After the ice cream we made a promise to each other that we weren’t going to lose a game at all this season, and we all went home and I will always remember this basketball game and how good of a team we were. This is my story, what is…

It was a really hot day. The scorching sun in the sky made it almost impossible to play. When we all got out the truck, we went to the field that we were supposed to play on. There was a game on the field. This meant that we got here early. Of course, most people would use that extra time to warm up. But for me, it was completely different. I sat on the bleachers. I was thinking deeply on my moves in order to bypass the defense. BEEP!!!!! The referee has blown the whistle to end the current game. The whistle snapped me out of what I was thinking. It was our turn to…

Now the momentum was completely in my teams direction. We went on a 5 to 2 point run and with 1 minute left we had our first lead of the game by 1 point. The last minute was agonizing, because we didn’t even possess the ball for one minute. The opposing team kept shooting and shooting but none of their shoots would go in the hoop. Finally, in the final second of the game Kyle Coats drives hard to the hoop and misses. I gave the ref an ear full when she called a foul and gave him two foul shoots. Of course, he makes the first free throw with ease but the second one took a lucky bounce outside hope. Meaning that the game was going to overtime. Overtime was one 5 minute period winner takes all. I honestly couldn’t believe the even had overtime in intramural basketball. We drew first blood in overtime when Mike Tangredi made an easy lay up. Towards the end opposing player John Lane hit a long 2 pointer tying the game up. With a little bit more then a minute to go my teammate Joey Morath found me again in the corner for yet another 3 pointer. Unfortunately for the other team, they missed all there 3 pointers to tie the game and we took the win in…

We were playing Montgomry Bell Academy, MBA we called them. The first quarter wasn’t anything to speak about. By the beginning of the second quarter, the score was one nothing and we weren’t the ones winning. Anyone who has ever played lacrosse knows that even a one-point lead is a lot in this sport. It was the beginning of the second quarter and I was starting with a face-off. I crouched down in front of the other player, sweat dripping off his maroon jersey, our sticks were on the ground in front of us, with the ball between us, beckoning me to scrape it away. I was nervous because the other guy was bigger than me but I was excited to start playing. The ref yelling SET and blowing his whistle brought me out of my head and into the game. I stood straight up and pushed the other guy out of the way and tried to kick the ball away from him but he knocked me down. I…

It’s that mentality that gets in your head that you are winning and you should not try as hard; we played very sloppy soccer in the second half and I myself didn’t run as hard as I had in the previous half. Vanguard came out with a chip on their shoulder and anger inside their bodies. They attacked us from all angles and played like how they were supposed to, passing, shooting and scoring. The intensity of the game picked up and our luck with holding Vanguard scoreless was gone when there left forward shot the ball right over my foot and then into the right corner passed our goalkeeper. The score now was tied 1-1 and I could start to see the change in momentum as the Vanguard players cheered and we started arguing with each other. It reminded me of the exact situation earlier in the first half when we scored. We woke up and played back with the same determination that we had in the first half, and I was finally moving the ball down the field for our offense to score, but we were unable to get a goal into the back of the net. With only 15 minutes left in the game, I knew it was crunch time, live or die, score or go home type of situation. My jersey felt like it weighed twenty pounds with all the sweat bearing down on it. Vanguard continued to press their big, fast and strong guys up the field putting pressure on our defense, and when they scored that second goal, our whole team spirit just seemed to die. Vanguard`s talent had finally broken through just like in the earlier games against us. Now we were the ones losing and it was our turn to score. Yet we had trailed through most of our games anyway, so this was familiar situation. Vanguard continued to improve on their play in the second half and shut down our offense as we tried to score. Our coach took our one of our midfielders and put an extra forward in to try and help score but that left our dense…

The last quarter of the game my mind is filled with guilt. Have I choked or was the other team just better? Am I good enough to deserve this spot on the team? We are down nine to nothing with just under a minute left and the other team has the ball. As the attacker comes down the field I get a nod from coach and I know it’s his way of telling me the pride of the team rest on my shoulders. I have one job and one job only do not let this game get into the double digits. Number 21 comes down the ball passing it in his team begins to move the ball around the goal. Seeing the ball moving around to my left side I step up to meet the…

It was a sunny but cold October day. My team was the Pink Dolphins and we played the Purple Striped Unicorns. On my wrist I had my lucky “M” . My best friend, Alexis, was on the other team. Everyone on my team, including me, were 120% focused during our warm-up because we were versing a good Illinois team and their team’s name was Euro SC Select. This team had a lot of skilled and fast players that were definitely bigger than us. Most of the players on this team were very aggressive and physical too, so my team had to be very strong. There weren’t many times when my soccer games were really intense, but this game was very intense to watch and the parents were getting so nervous and anxious. It was a really close game and we ended up tying the game 0-0. Because of the tie in the championship game, we had to go into penalty kicks. My coach got to choose 5 people to kick from the penalty box and they have to try to make it in. My team was so scared to the point where we all held hands and we stayed very close to each other. In the end we were happy because we had made 3 out of 5 goals in and the other team only made 1 goal out of 5 shots! To phrase it better, my team won the tournament and we all lived happily ever…

My team and I were dominating each game with ease. I was confident and I felt as if i were invincible. This is the feeling that I worked so diligently for, the feeling of victory, the feeling of success. The team had went into the finals and this is where the true colors of the team had come out. The first finals game was a hard earned victory, we barely made it out. Second final game we couldn't hold on anymore, we lost, and all the hard work was all down into the drain. One wrong move, one mistake, A simple missed shot. I felt as if I wasn't able to be on this team so I had resigned; I had given up, and was disappointed in…
