1) Adam and Joey, best friends since kindergarten, were doing an experiment in engineering class. The boys launched a potato at the wrong rate of speed and distance and broke a school window when they were trying out their potato launcher that was made to be launched indoors inside the school lab. If Adam and Joey had listened carefully to the teachers instructions, they would have launched the potato to travel the correct distance and speed.
Maria and Kathy, two girls who had just became friends since the first day of school, were doing an experiment in science class. Both girls hair caught fire when they turned their back while doing an experiment that involved fire in the school lab. Had Maria and Kathy listened to
the teacher tell all the girls to tie their hair up instead of talking, their hair would not have caught fire.
Process of the scientific method:
1) There are multiple steps to the process of the scientific method. You must first have a scientific question that you would like to know, then do background research on the question you may have. A hypothesis is needed in order to make a prediction about what you think the outcome of the experiment will be. After you predict, do an experiment to try and get an answer to your question then draw a conclusion by analyzing your data from the experiment. Overall, the scientific method is scientific way to ask and answer questions by doing experiments and making observations.
