• Next, locate at least ONE article that discusses:
• Historical trends of suspected causes of autism

• Provide a brief summary of each article.
• Evaluate the historical views on the causes of autism with what we know now.
• Compare that information with what you have read in the
Boucher text. As a guideline, view the ‘Theories on the
Causes of Autism: Historical Trends timeline.

• Summarizes the literature on historical trends for potential causes or contributing factors of an autism-related disorder. Identifies accurately how these trends prefigure those in use today.

• Evaluates the historical views on the causes of autism with what is currently known; analyzes the role of applied behavior analysis in the evolution of understanding the causes of autism.
