Introduction
In this assignment I will be comparing different research methodologies and I will also be justifying the research methodologies I have chosen for my project.
P3 -
Quantitative research -
This is information that is collected in a form of numbers. The data is used to make statistics and charts to show the results. It is very easy to use this kind of information to generalise a large amount of peoples views from a small survey. Quantitative research can be done using questionnaires with closed and open questions or using questions in an interview or observation.
Qualitative research -
This is information that is normally written information which is stated in more depth and gives more reasons for certain issues. It also gives an in-depth analysis of different topics of research and provides an insight to reasons behind problems and complications. This information can be gathered by interviews with open and closed questions and observations.
Primary Research -
This is research that has been done by a researcher by themselves without assistance from any other research. This can be done by using questionnaires, surveys, interviews and observations.
Secondary Research -
This is research that has already been done and produced by somebody else. This could be qualitative, quantitative or historical. Using this research saves on money and time and can be useful when trying to do primary research.
Bias -
Bias is one-sided views. Its an error where research findings deviate from true findings. This can come from errors in an interview or questionnaire.
