1.1 Explain what is meant by diversity, equality and inclusion.
Diversity; this is the difference in people’s culture, color, race, background, moral believes and religion. In other for diversity to be effective, people need to accept others for who they are in the society such as people who do not share the same values.
In health care, the diversity range from elderly, mental health, disabilities and race. Care assistants meet different types of people from different background during work. A care assistant should be able to tolerate difference types of people and respect their values and believes.
Equality: This is offering the same opportunity to people regardless of their race and culture. Equality act brings fairness to people by helping to eliminate discrimination in other for people to fulfill their potential.
In modern society, there is law against unequal opportunity especially in the workplace in other to eliminate inequality. In social care, every vulnerable individual who require assistance to live an everyday life need the support of the social service.
