1.1.
Diversity - In society we all live in a very diverse environment were ever we are located. This can include people of all backgrounds and characteristics. This can be broken down to people of different groups in society such as different cultures, ethnic backgrounds, gender preferences, religious beliefs, disabilities and different family structures or settings.
We must as human beings learn to accept that we are all different and try to understand and respect that each person is an individual and therefore should be treated respectfully as an individual.
Equality - Is making sure that everybody (or each child and young person) is treated equally and fairly, regardless of their needs. This should be person centred to reflect their treatment. They should be treated equally without showing favourability or disfavour ability to areas such as race, culture, sexual beliefs, gender or disability. Therefore any discrimination should be eliminated immediately. Each child or young person should have equality when it comes to opportunity.
Inclusion - Is the promotion of positive aspects of diversity and to offer each child equal opportunities within their lives .We as carers should always strive to achieve inclusion whenever possible for the best interest of the children. Inclusion is a continual process of identifying, understanding and breaking down barriers in order to achieve participation and the children’s ability to achieve a fulfilled life.
