Switch and Router configuration.

When you are installing a switch, there are some basic things that you need to follow. The connecting of the switch (which is physical) and the configuring of the switch which is done from the console is the beginning step. Making sure that you have all the cables connected and the switch is good to go; then connecting the console cable is a MUST. At this point, connecting the console and performing the configuring setup of the VLAN and protocols should begin. The user interface that the console provides will allow you to change different things located within the switch. The ma There are three things you need to know when you are going to configure the VLANs. The trunks

EIGRP (enhanced interior gateway protocol) is a hybrid protocol. This protocol allows for minimal routing instability as well as the bandwidth processing power of the router. OSPF (open shortest path first) allows the packets to take the shortest path based on the routers routing table. RIP (routing information protocol) limits the number of hops that the data can make. It also has some stability features such as holddown and route poisoning mechanisms that help prevent incorrect routing information from being generated. RIPv2 is a better version of RIP and thus allowing classless inter-domain routing (CIDR). IS-IS protocol stands for intermediate system – intermediate system. This protocol was designed to move information quickly across a network of computers that are physically connected together. Each router independently builds its own routing table to allow the process of information to move faster. The different comment modes of a router include: >, #, (config), and (config-if) or user mode, privilege mode, global configuration mode and interface configuration

This is a partial listing of another sample chart of accounts. Note that each account is assigned a three-digit number followed by the account name. The first digit of the number signifies if it is an asset, liability, etc. For example, if the first digit is a "1" it is an asset, if the first digit is a "3" it is a revenue account, etc. The company decided to include a column to indicate whether a debit or credit will increase the amount in the account. This sample chart of accounts also includes a column containing a description of each account in order to assist in the selection of the most appropriate account.…

VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) will add speed and efficiency to the network while reducing overhead and building the strength of the network. Switches on the network must be configured in two ways for VTP to work properly. There must be at least one VTP Server and VTP clients. Changes to the VTP must be made in VTP Server mode and will be communicated to all other VTP client switches. Also, the network needs to be physically laid out in a star topology as a backup to the VLAN to ensure that the network continues to operate during a…

The genome4u is a scientific study project at a large university that is intended to provide an order of the genomes of a hundred thousand volunteers. This genome lab setup has various amounts of routing protocols, in which the task would be getting the protocols interlinked so that design can be changed. The different Cisco switches represent the various VLANs that can be configured for the different project teams in the lab (Oppenheimer, 2005). Router-EIGRPs are the internal routers of the research lab network. Router-EIGRP/OSPFs and Router-EIGRP/RIPs are the routers that are at the Fundraising office interface and the Biology lab interface respectively. The file servers are where the volunteer’s data files will be stored. The design will now spread apart similar data to travel across it from different internet connections.…

In all, Figure 4 shows a calculation of 64% accuracy rate for correct answers given in his small reading group. I could tell that Michael felt like he was on a roll, and he made a surprising request that none of his peers groaned about. “Can we finish by ourselves?” The teacher gave consent for the class to finish independently, and they did. As an added bonus, the reading specialist shared an entire sheet of heart stickers made by her husband to celebrate Valentine’s Day early. Michael happily received his reward while trying to estimate the total stickers on the sheet (see Figure 5). When he saw the red heart, he stated, “I don’t want the heart to camouflage on my red sweater.” Therefore, Michael placed the heart on his white collar (see Figure 6).…

Cabling will be needed to connect the assets to the switches, switches to each other, and the switches to the router. Routers will be required so the VLANs can communicate with each other and be able to communicate outside the network.…
