Understand health and safety in the social care settings
1.1: You will find all the legislations under the health and safety at work act 1974 this act is the overall cover for health and safety at work.

Make the work place safe Provide adequate first aid facilities
Always use protective clothing appropriately Prevent the risk to health
Ensure equipment is safe to use
A) As a care worker my responsibilities are:
1. As much as you can you should have risk to your health properly controlled.
2. To be provide free of charge any personal protective and safety equipment.
3. If you feel the work place is not safe to work in then you can leave without being disciplined.
4. To have adequate breaks in the working day
5. To take correct care of your own health
B) As a manager my responsibilities are:
1. Set up an emergency plan
2. Provide health supervisions were needed
3. Make sure the right warning signs are provided and looked after
4. Report certain injuries , diseases and dangerous occurrences to either the health and safety executive or your local authority
5. Provide protective clothing or equipment when needed

c) Others in the care setting are health and safety commission and excecutive they are responsabil all most all the risk in health and safety.
1.4: You as a individual has a rsponsability with the client/resident to always make sure you see that the way you practice is right this responsibility could be to always wear your protective clothing and equipment when needed.
1.5: All manual handling must be carried out only by trained staff there for your employer must provide the correct training, training , must be attended once a year it is not a one of thing it must be updated regularly.
