Child sexual abuse is a form of child abuse where an adult or adolescent uses a child for sexual stimulation. Child sexual abuse doesn 't always involve body contact. Exposing a child to sexual situations or material is sexually abusive, whether or not touching is involved (Smith 2013). Statistics states that 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys is a victim of child sexual abuse (Finkelhor 2012). Studies show that 20% of adult females and 5-10% of adult males recall a childhood sexual assault or sexual abuse incident (Finkelhor 2012). The first form will be touching which can be fondling, masturbation, exhibitionism etc. Penetrating a child’s vagina or anus with a penis or any object that doesn’t have a medical purpose is a form of child sexual abuse (Child Welfare). Another one will be having a child touch any sexual organ on another person or having a child play sexual games. The second form is non-touching which can be deliberately exposing a child to any sexual activity for example pornography (Moelker). It can also include masturbating in front of a child and inappropriately watching a child dress or undress. The third form will be sexual exploitation. One effect that most children face is being robbed of their childhood (Smith). Children that were sexually abused become mentally disturbed by staying to their selves, feeling suicidal, misunderstood, and even blaming their selves. Child sexual abuse creates a loss of trust, feeling of guilt and self abusive behavior. Another effect is being depressed, stressed and a long line of other emotional problems like loss of self esteem (Finkelhor). Children often feel damaged or worthless after through such a traumatic experience. These effects majority of the time carries on the child adult life. For example, some homosexual men question their orientation and wonder how they might be different had they not been abused (Ken Singer). Not only does child sexual abuse interferes with your sexuality preference, it also interferes with intimate relationships. Some become substance abusers or alcoholics as adults by trying to cope with pain and
