Activity name: Farm Animals who are they and what sounds do they make
Age group: 4-5 years
Objective(s): By the end of this activity students should be able to identify the different farm animals. This activity will help them identify difference and/or similarities in different types of animals and to distinguish the sound each animal makes.
Developmental domain addressed: This activity incorporates all developmental domains: physical (fine motor), communication, social/emotional, adaptive and cognitive. The students will use/grow their physical skills, which includes fine motor skills or small movements of the hands and fingers through the use of scissors, coloring, gluing and painting. The student’s communication skills are enhanced by answering questions and as they present their animal to the class and verbally communicate to their peers the farm animal they have chosen, and the sound this animal makes. Engaging in conversation with their peers in front of the class will also help to improve their social/emotion skills because this type of activity helps to boost their self-esteem and
