Unsafe Act
Do you care enough to say something when you see a coworker doing something unsafe? If not, then your failure to say something is also an unsafe act. February is the month of Valentine’s Day and in that spirit you should care enough to stop someone from doing something that could hurt them or others. In fact, failures to stay something to the person is lowering the value you place on that person’s wellbeing.

But look at it this way, how would you feel if you ignored the unsafe act and later people were injured because of it. You will probably feel regret and guilt. Therefore, care enough to say something then before an accident happens.

Aronson, 231 Mass. 588, 591, 121 N.E. 505 (1919) (“Negligence, without qualification and in its ordinary sense, is the failure of a responsible person, either by omission or by action, to exercise that degree of care, vigilance and forethought which, in the discharge of the duty then resting on him, the person of ordinary caution and prudence ought to exercise under the particular circumstances”). Also see Carroll v. Bouley, 338 Mass. 625, 627, 156 N.E.2d 687, 689 (1959). Moreover, a driver owes others the duty to operate a motor vehicle “in a reasonably careful and prudent manner” and, “within the bounds of ordinary care,” “to anticipate and provide against what usually happens and what is likely to happen[.]” Buda v. Foley, 302 Mass. 411, 413, 19 N.E.2d 537, 538…

In this article the purpose is to examine the case of New York. It gives in depth information about the gun laws and who is able to own one. The New York SAFE Act was implemented to assure safety to others. The shooting of twenty children and six adults in Connecticut sparked a change to be made with guns, which the New York State legislature made it clear to put restrictions on guns. Some individuals were not too happy with the tougher law, they stated citizens were the one being hurt by the law and not the criminals because they wont follow the law anyways. There were a lot of questions rising about not being able to carry 10 bullets in their guns reducing it to…

I researched additional statistics on my subject and the results I found were shocking. “In 2014, 3,179 people were killed, and 431,000 were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers.” This number way bigger than it should be, over 3k people lost their life, and 400k were injured, many who probably ended up paralyzed. Add to the fact that the lives of each and every one of the victim’s family and peers is now changed forever. The number of people affected in some way by the actions of a reckless human being sky…

I’m sure there have been many situations like this one and it is a very distressing concept. Too many people make the wrong decision of texting and driving. When I tell them not to do it, they would just argue, “I’m really good at it though, trust me.” I do understand that it turned into a continuous process; however, that doesn’t mean that accidents can’t happen. That is what they all think, but anything can happen to any driver, at anytime. My friends have learned not to text and drive when I am in the car with them, but that doesn’t mean they don’t do it when they are alone, or when I’m not in the car. In fact, I think that is even worse because there is then no one to tell them, “Look out!” or “Stop!” By this point there is no turning back, just heartbroken family members and friends. Every day I see at least one person texting and driving, and it makes my heart skip a beat. Not only am I worried for that person to get in an accident, but I’m concerned for me, and other drivers on the road. I notice them driving carelessly, and swerving on the road. No matter what kind of situation you’re in, there are no good ones when it comes to the road. When my brother got his license he was caught texting and driving by my mom’s friend who then told her. She was furious!…

Realistically as you start your day it is safe to assume that you have no intentions of being in a head on collision and your vehicle being bashed nor did the person who was nonchalantly steering the car with their knee while texting as they were driving. Ultimately I think everyone will come across at least one irresponsible driver in their lifetime. Most of us are fortunate enough to survive these encounters, however not everyone is that lucky. Reckless drivers endanger and destroy people’s lives and possessions on a daily basis.…

5 people died due to neglect. The main one being a nurse/carer gave the wrong dosage of warfarin to a resident which resulted in the lady being hospitalized and her MAR charts being falsified to hide the mistake, as the carers knew that if the hospital had seen the original MAR charts would have resulted in a CQC inspection and possibly the home being shut down.…
