Vanderbilt University Vs Emory University

Colossal, brick structures loom above me. Warm, sunny weather shines down on the hairs of my skin. The smell of freshly cut green grass fills the air.. From Nashville, Tennessee to Atlanta, Georgia, two highly respected colleges sit at the corner of academic excellence and social experience. Both universities provide the opportunity for success for anyone who attends. The choice between Vanderbilt University and Emory University is an extremely difficult one. Based on my research, Vanderbilt University and Emory University are both acceptable options of schools to consider because of their excellent major options, rigorous academics, and a strong social aspect outside the classroom.

Time off working is important to me as it lets me release all of my energy. Also, having excellent roommates will be very beneficial to me at Vanderbilt. “The people are by far the best thing this school has to offer. You will meet some of the most diverse, talented, and inspiring people in your life” ("Vanderbilt University" Unigo). I absolutely love hanging out with other people and getting to know them well. Vanderbilt has students arriving from all over the country where my horizons can be opened to new cultures and traditions. Furthermore, Emory University has one of the most racially diverse schools that bring countless students from across the globe, giving culture to the school. “Emory University boasts a diverse student population, with a large portion being international students, which is the thing I like the most about being enrolled here” ("Emory University" Unigo.com). I enjoy when there are very different people around me, as they can bring out certain aspects of me that no one else can. But, I want students that encourage me to work instead of having fun everyday. “Emory definitely has a work hard play hard mentality. People are either studying or having fun; not too much down time” (Cicka). Since I get bored easily, living in a place that will always keep me busy is beneficial to my college experience. A wide community of people will comfort me in a foreign environment. Vanderbilt has a wondrous city where going to exhibits and sports game promote my culture experience in the world.
